Romas Sadauskas. Writer, reviewer, journalist, editor.

Born in Marijampolė, R. Sadauskas spent his infancy and childhood in Dzūkija - in Pazapsiai and Petroškai villages, Lazdijai district. He attended Petroškai Primary School, Veisiejai Secondary School and Druskininkai Secondary School. In 1966 he graduated from Vilnius University. Since 1974 - a member of the Lithuanian Writers' Union. In 2014, he was awarded the Žemaitė Prize. In 2013 he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Lazdijai District.

It is well known that Romas is a Dzukian to the core, although he was born in Suvalkija.

For many years, Sadauskas' summers were spent in the village of Demeniškės, Lazdijai District. You would think that he had escaped the hustle and bustle of the city for an oasis of creative solitude. But not quite so. Romas Sadauskas' contribution to the cultural life of the district is important. At his homestead the writer used to initiate various events, which were attended by famous Lithuanian artists as well as people of culture and art of Lazdijai district. One of the most important of these events was the „Tarmių atlaidai“.  For at least one day the small and shrinking Dzūkija village used to fill up with people, five times more than its population. The Sadauskas' homestead was also the venue of the International Poetry festival „Poezijos pavasaris“.
